The White Kenner Bespin Security Guard action figure stayed stood up so much better than his black counterpart, and as such the figure was the best option that we had for carrying the Carbonite Block from Slave One.

The Kenner Bespin Security Guard figures represent was the first time that we had two different Star Wars action figures in the same uniform as army builders and it felt like quite a luxury at the time when we only had Luke X-Wing Pilot to stand in for all X-Wing Fighter Pilots and only the Rebel Soldier in Hoth Outfit to stand in for all the rank and file Rebel Alliance ground force on Hoth. Not to mention one Imperial Commander and one Star Destroyer Commander to stand in for all the officers, admirals and generals of the Imperial fleet.
I don't think that the designation of Black and White Bespin Security Guard for the figures was ever quite accurate or appropriate since the 'White' Bespin Guard is distinctly oriental in appearance. That said, Bespin really was our first introduction to racial diversity in the world of the Star Wars movies, and in some ways it was rather abrupt; almost like someone suddenly realised that something was missing half way through filming The Empire Strikes Back.
I suppose it's quite amusing that one of the next Bespin Security Guard action figure to come along also gained his own unique designation. This time however that designation was unfortunately that of 'ugly'. See the Power of the Jedi Bespin Guard with Carbon Freezing Chamber Playset.
The main areas of paint loss on the white Bespin Security Guard tend to be on the gold leaf of his uniform and also around the rim of his hat.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
