I think that Kenner very wisely realised that the Dengar figure was going to be a tough sale in the shops competing against much more desirable Star Wars action figures. He is a bit potato-ey after all. So as well as being available for sale on the standard Kenner card back, the Dengar figure was also released as a free mail away figure that you could collect card backs for and cut out the figure's names from the card backs to send off to claim your free Dengar bounty hunter figure.

Dengar appears to be a bit too bandaged up to be as efficacious as the other bounty hunters aboard the Star Destroyer Executor and you have to wonder why Darth Vader invited him at all.

Dengar now belongs to a line of Star Wars characters who seem to have been so badly injured that they require some form of life support suit or exo-skeleton in order to carry on going. Others include Darth Vader himself, General Grievous and more recently Saw Garrera in Rogue One.

As a short and stumpy action figure, Dengar's long blaster rifle (also used for the Hoth Snowtrooper figure) causes all sorts of balancing and spatial issues.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
