Kenner's Lando Calrissian in Skiff Guard Disguise was a strikingly nice looking action figure for its day whilst at the same time not being out of keeping with a character who needed to skulk around inconspicuously in the shadows and blend in with the other courtiers at Jabba's Palace. The dark blue-black colour on Lando's tunic sleeves is incredibly rich and contributes an awful lot to just how good this action figure looks.

Lando's skiff guard helmet looks really basic in retrospect and a lot of the detail is quite hard to make out, but at the time it felt like a really good accessory, and complemented well the Leia in Boushh Disguise figure with her removable helmet. It's of note here that in A New Hope we have Han and Luke infiltrating the Death Star Disguised as Imperial Stormtroopers with Chewbacca posing as a prisoner in order to rescue Leia. Then in The Return of the Jedi we have Lando and Leia in disguise with Chewbacca posing as a prisoner in order to pave the way for Han's rescue. It's a fairly neat parallel, of which there are many amongst and between the Star Wars films new and old.
I don't think it's been commented upon before that Lando Calrissian's disguise might be a little out of place in Jabba's throne room. Most of the other skiff guards don't materialise until the battle over the Pit of Carkoon and Klaatu wears a different outfit in Jabba's throne room, only changing into his skiff guard outfit for the outing. Lando then might be thought to look a little bit conspicuous wandering around the throne room dressed as a skiff guard, when no one actually knows that the skiffs are coming out that day until Jabba announces it after Luke defeats the Rancor Monster.
Lando Calrissian's skiff guard disguise has now made a second movie appearance with the release of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story in which the soldier of fortune Tobias Beckett borrows it from Lando's wardrobe for the ruse to get the heroes in to the Kessell spice mines.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
