I don't have a great copy of the Kenner Princess Leia Hoth Outfit action figure unfortunately. This one looks a little shabby with paint loss on it's hair, face and insignia. Compared to the extra detail we got with the Luke and Han hoth action figures Leia is a little bit on the basic side, but then again Princess Leia doesn't have as much screen time or as much action on Hoth as Han and Luke do. Which leads me to a thought: what was Han Solo doing during the attack on Echo Base? Princess Leia was hands-on in the command centre and Luke was on the battlefield. Han was nowhere to be seen and only takes place in the fighting during the escape on to the Millennium Falcon. It's not like Han Solo to sit out a fight. Maybe the excuse was the repairs which were being made to the Falcon. Whatever, the cammeraderie in battle which we get between Luke and Han at the end of A New Hope seems to have quickly fizzled out. Luke's only just out of the bacta tank and barely fit to fight arguably, so why it's Han rather than Luke who sits out the fight is a mystery.
With the exception of the very phallic Boba Fett, Kenner often go to great lengths to make their figures a-sexual and in this instance the Princess Leia Hoth figure had all the cleavage of a thirteen year old girl and a face which was pretty featureless and bereft of femininity. This is all the more striking when we look at the detail that Kenner were capable of putting in to some of the alien figures. To give them their due though Carrie Fisher's face has quite small features which I can imagine posed some problems when transforming her into a 3.75 inch action figure with the moulding technology available in the early 1980s.

The Hoth Princess Leia's blaster shown in the photos is a reproduction.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
