The most notable thing about this Kenner Princess Leia Organa Boushh Bounty Hunter action figure is that the removable helmet was incredibly well moulded, and being quite pliable it was very durable too. It's a shame that Princess Leia in Boushh disguise figure doesn't come with a thermal detonator but being able to remove the helmet for scenes both before and after her identity is revealed was a very nice touch and a precursor to the last 17 figure of Luke in Stormtrooper disguise. If I remember correctly, this is the first Star Wars action figure that Kenner released which came with a removable helmet, although it was of course contemporary with the Ewoks with their removable headdresses, and shortly followed by the Princess Leia with Endor combat poncho and another removable helmet.

The staff/pike never stayed in Leia's hand too well and because of its length did contribute towards some balancing issues (along with the small feet). Plus, the Boushh helmet was a little prone to paint loss. Nonetheless I always really liked this rendition of Princess Leia Organa as Boushh even though it was a much safer choice of outfit than the later Hasbro figures of Leia in her revealing slave outfit. The Boushh Disguise Princess Leia figure was never going to work well for any scenes after Han tries to bargain with Jabba following the carbon freeze scene and she looked out of place attached to the neck collar on the Jabba's Throne playset. I don't think this was the point however, as the action figure capture's Boushh's most dramatic moment as she enters the palace with her infamous Wookiee prisoner and bargains over her sale by threatening to blow up the palace and all its courtiers with a thermal detonator. The panic this creates in Jabba's throne room is one of the most iconic scenes from The Return of the Jedi in my opinion.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
