Yarna D'Al'Gargan is apparently six-breasted which almost takes us into Douglas Adams territory when we remember his Eccentrica Gallumbits the triple-breasted whore of Eroticon Six. For this reason of her having supernumerary mammories the Yarna D'al'Gargan action figure was apparently originally shelved. The extra breasts puts D'Al'Gargan into the small category of Star Wars characters with extra limbs and heads. Other supernumerary limbed Star Wars characters and figures include Dexter Jettster, General Grievous, Nabrun Leids and Gasgano. The weight of them is definitely within the Prequel Trilogy movies, and this emphasis on extra limbs balances against the theme of limbs being amputated in the Original Trilogy from the Cantina onwards. There's almost a fulcrum which swings between characters with extra limbs early on (three at least in Episodes One and Two) to the loss of limbs the further we get into the story. This reaches both a crescendo and a turning point with the defeat of General Grievous and then with Anakin Skywalker's defeat on Mustafar. From there on in the emphasis is towards the Icelandic Saga trope of limb amputation and away from the multi-limbed curiosities of the Prequel Trilogy. The multi-limbed characters start out by providing a lighthearted backdrop to events (Fode and Beed, Dexter Jettster), and the characters who start losing their limbs in ever more extreme ways suggest a movement away from comedy and towards tragedy.
See my articles on the amputation motif in the Star Wars films here.
Yarna's name is also of interest in the way that it reflects her rather large size. Her surname Gargan spells out the first six letters of the word gargantuan and as such is representative of Star Wars naming conventions for the more portly characters. All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
