This EV-9D9 action figure doesn't have the articulated mouth which had been one of the best features of its Last 17 Kenner predecessor. Nonetheless it is a fair rendition of the cold, sadistic slave master who was in charge of the droid workers at Jabba's Palace.

the EV-9D9 figure's lectern was a great addition as an accessory, as was the torture rack for the 8D8 torture droid. These little touches really help bring Jabba's Palace to life.

As a Kenner Last 17 figure the 1985 EV-9D9 was released on the Kenner 'The Power of the Force' card back. As such the 1990s Power of the Force range is often referred to as Power of the Force 2, or POTF2. I tend to avoid bothering with this distinction most of the time as only a very few of the 1990s figures had already been released amongst the Kenner Last 17 figures, and if they were re-released they were often done so under changed names. So Yak Face becomes Saelt-Marae, Lando Calrissian (General Pilot) becomes Lando Calrissian (General's Gear), Luke Skywalker (Imperial Stormtrooper Outfit) becomes Luke Skywalker (In Stormtrooper Disguise and Death Star Escape) and Anakin Skywalker becomes part of a Jedi Spirits 3-pack. Likewise in it's 1997 iteration EV-9D9 becomes EV-9D9 (Jabba's Palace).

Tatooine is not such a friendly place for droids all things considered and there is a deal of prejudice against them. The Jawas kidnap them, the Hutts enslave and torture them and they are not even welcome at the Mos Eisley Cantina. One has to think that the attitude towards droids on Tatooine has changed somewhat since the time that Anakin built C-3PO at Mos Espa. Perhaps this has something to do with the intervening Clone Wars and that the Trade Federation's droid army has somewhat sullied the reputation and diminished the status of droids in general.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
