Ugnaught Figure Carbon Freezing Chamber Power Of The Force

Ugnaught (Carbon Freezing Chamber) Action Figure: Overview

Ugnaught Figure (Carbon Freezing Chamber) front Ugnaught Figure (Carbon Freezing Chamber) side

This late Power of the Force action figure is a very nicely detailed sculpt of an Ugnaught. The apron, gloves and facial detail are all particularly good.

This Ugnaught figure does not have separated legs (something which it shares with the Power of the Force Mon Mothma and earlier Jawas), which is a shame. Nonetheless this Power of the Force Ugnaught is a great display figure and we would have to wait a long time before it was improved upon.

Ugnaughts are blue collar workers but they are also the downtrodden undermench of Cloud City. It's all in the name - 'ug' as in the grunt of a Neanderthal and 'naught' as in nothing. The portrayal of the Ugnaught is that of a creature who is worthless and backwards. Lando Calrissian might be looking out for his people when he makes the deal with Vader, but do the Ugnaughts really fit into that category? It appears that Lando runs a mining colony in which there is a distinct underclass of scavengers who are perhaps no less put upon than Rey in The Force Awakens. Bespin, like Jabba's dominion on Tatooine, lies outside of the control of the Empire and in both regions there is a distinct whiff of social injustice. In the fight against the Empire, Lucas is subtly showing us that not everything is so black and white as the struggle between the Jedi and the Sith might suggest.

Other Power of the Force Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
