This General Grievous (Demise of Grievous) action figure does what the Saga Collection often does very well which is to (rather than capture a whole scene or give us a figure that represents them for a significant chunk of a movie) give us an action figure which represents a significant moment for that character within a movie as pretty much a screen shot.

In this instance, this General Grievous figure captures the moment of Grievous's death as he is brought down by Obi-Wan Kenobi's blaster fire and his exposed soft innards explode in to flames and burst out of his eye sockets. It is a really good movie moment and the action figure does good justice to it giving us accessories for both the flames coming out of Grievous's midriff and his eyes.
Grievous also comes with a Magnadroid vibro staff and the blaster with which Obi-Wan shoots him. For the banner photo I used the Utapau Obi-Wan Kenobi from the 30th Anniversary Collection.
As an aside, General Grievous's death in the flames prefigures Anakin Skywalker's symbolic death in the flames of Mustafar later in the movie. There have been parallels drawn between Skywalker and Grievous to the effect that Grievous in many ways prefigures Darth Vader as a cyborg made up of both mechanical and organic parts. Grevious in fact seems to be a primitive prototype for Vader. What is more significant though is that it is usually C-3PO who has a mishap which prefigures Anakin's (and later his master Luke's) injuries. In the Revenge of the Sith we see that relationship between Anakin and C-3PO is severed and Grievous now takes on the role as a harbinger of Anakin's fate. See my article on The Significance of C-3PO in the Star Wars Movies here.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
