Apparently an R2 Unit from Naboo, this Saga Collection R2-M5 action figure came in an astromech unit five-pack and is a very nice looking astromech droid indeed. When you turn his head his tripod leg moves up and down although unfortunately, on the one I have, when his middle leg is fully down his dome head faces in the wrong direction.

The Saga Collection R2-M5 is easily mistaken for, and incredibly similar in appearance to, Grizz Frix's astromech droid R2-T7 from The Return of the Jedi (Shadows of the Dark Side 2011). The main distinguishing feature is that the R2-M5 figure has red detailing on his torso and legs whereas R2-T2 has a dark bluey-grey detailing. R2-T7 also has additional functionality such as a removable tripod leg and a retractable periscope, whereas the R2-M5 action figure doesn't have these features.

Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
