Whilst the Clone Wars Series action figures had stayed strictly within the cartoon aesthetic, the 2010 Saga Legends Series freed the design of Clone Wars figures from this constraint and the end result was some magnificent and quite realistic looking action figures.
Conversely, for some strange reason, the design of action figures from the Star Wars movies went in the other direction with the Saga Legends Mission Series of 2013-2014. Whilst some of these had very nice moulds, they took a step backwards in terms of articulation. This was also the case for the basic Saga Legends figures, whilst the battle packs seem to have maintained the high standards in design and articulation of the 2010 figures.
Overall what we get in the Saga Legends Series is the manufacture of Star Wars action figures at its absolute pinnacle of craftsmanship with the 2010 line and then strong signs of decline in the 2013-2014 figures.
By the time of the later Saga Legends Series in 2015 we are practically back in the territory of the same articulation which came with the original Kenner line. I suppose on reflection that these figures were directed at younger fans who wanted robust figures for their play value rather than collectors who valued highly articulated features for their enhanced display value.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
