Saga Series Action Figures: Overview

Many of the Star Wars Saga Series action figures are frozen in the moment in dramatic positions with little articulation (especially the Geonosis arena ones). Even the outstanding Captain Antilles Fan's Choice figure has no knee articulation which fixes him firmly in the scene where Vader lifts him off the ground and chokes him to death.

The later Saga Collection got the balance between drama and articulation much better, with many figures and their accessories enabling the re-creation of movie moments but with the potential for more flexibility and versatility in display possibilities if you want to use your imagination and creativity when displaying your Star Wars figures.

Whereas many figures in the Saga Series were rather static and decorative others were anything but and came with contraptions for launching them in to the air. These included the Jango Fett Kamino Escape action figure as well as Yoda, Anakin, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Count Dooku action figures all of which had some sort of Force flipping or spinning action to get them airborne.

A collossal amount of figures were released during the Saga Series. In fact, I suspect that it's the largest Star Wars action figure range to date perhaps with the exception of the Power of the Force range. I've catalogued many of the Saga Series action figures that I own but the list is far from comprehensive.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
