This 30th Anniversary Collection action figure is an absolutely brilliant rendition of R2-D2 from The Revenge of the Sith aboard the Trade Federation Starship during the rescue of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. The scene is the comic moment when Artoo trips up the Super Battle Droids with an oil slick and then uses his thrusters to burn them to a crisp. It's pure Star Wars slap stick and this R2-D2 action figure does good justice to the scene with the detailing of the oil splash on his torso and the figure stand for his thrusters which propel Artoo into the air whilst leaving the Super Battle Droids below melting in the wake of the flames.

The thrusters are a very good fit for the figure stand but Artoo is slightly too wide to fit inbetween comfortably unless you angle his body forwards. My only other complaint about this Artoo action figure is that his head doesn't click. I don't have the Collectors' Coin which came with this 30th Anniversary Collection R2-D2.

The concept for the figure stand had first been used to represent Boba Fett's jetpack thrusters during the Battle over the Sarclaac Pit in the Saga Series.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
