If Darth Plageius could influence the midichlorians to create life, could this explain the immaculate conception of Anakin? This would create the great irony that what turns Anakin to the Dark Side is the need to learn the corollary art of cheating death from Plageius's pupil Sidious. Was Anakin created by Plageius and somehow implanted in Shmi? In The Phantom Menace Qui-Gon Jinn speculates that Anakin might have been conceived by the midichlorians themselves, so we have to wonder whether Plageius might have had a hand in this. Palpatine does tell Anakin that his old master could even influence the Midichlorians to create life so this is a distinct possibility.
For all his promises, Palpatine seems to use technology and medical droids to save Anakin; ostensibly this brings into question his ability to use the Force to prevent someone from dying. The corresponding unexplained death of Padmé is suspicious though. Thus, a further question that is posed by this dark art is that of whether the art of cheating death means stealing life from another. This would explain why the Emperor is able to save Anakin and why Padmé's life force mysteriously gives up simultaneously? So, in cheating death Anakin actually loses what he was trying to save?
Yet another question I have on the subject, is that of whether General Grievous is an earlier rudimentary experiment of Palpatine's in cheating death. Grievous is little more than a heart and a pair of eyes and just about everything else is mechanical so he is definitely a precursor to Vader.
In Episode V The Empire Strikes Back we get the revelation that Vader is Luke's father in the middle movie of the Trilogy. In the entire Prequel Trilogy however we are left guessing as to Anakin's origins and also what dark arts Palpatine does or doesn't use to keep Anakin/ Vader alive following his defeat in the duel with Obi-Wan. I would like to think that these mysteries might have some light cast upon them in the Episodes VII to IX Trilogy as it emerges.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
