Boba Fett (The Rise Of Boba Fett) Action Figure: Overview

The Rise of Boba Fett figure Closeup

For a cartoon action figure this Clone Wars Collection rendition of Boba Fett as a child does much justice to the wilful obstinacy and defiance we see on young Boba's face in The Attack of the Clones. Personality just oozes out of this Boba Fett figure which is really appropriate as a contrast to the adult Boba whose expressions you can never read, concealed as they are underneath his helmet, and who is mysterious and aloof. There's just no disguising the fierce emotions of the young Boba.

Note: In The Empire Strikes Back when Darth Vader recruits Boba Fett to find Han Solo you have to wonder whether Boba Fett knows that Vader helped to kill Mace Windu, the man who killed his father Jango Fett. This would explain Boba Fett's willingness to do business with Vader, who as Anakin, had been Jango Fett's enemy. Notably though it is not Anakin but Obi-Wan who fights Jango on Kamino and it is Windu who fights Jango on Geonosis, so from this we can deduce there has been no direct confrontation between Anakin and Boba's father which makes their dealings with each other more plausible.

At the same time though, Vader's willingness to do business with Boba Fett feels a little awkward since Boba's father had tried to assassinate Anakin's soon-to-be wife in The Attack of the Clones. Vader/Anakin's obsession with saving Padme must presumably spill over into his Sith identity (especially taking into account his rage when he gets off the operating table). It's all a bit of a complex situation when we start to look at what motivates these characters in The Empire Strikes Back from the context of the Prequel Trilogy.

The The Rise Of Boba Fett action figure came as part of a substantial Rise of Boba Fett Ultimate Battle Pack which included Anakin, Mace Windu, a young Boba Fett, Mace's astromech R8-B7, Bossk and also a Slave I and a unique Jedi Star fighter. So far as I can tell the Slave I is not only quite a bit larger than Jango Fett's Saga Series Slave I, it also has a lot of new features, including an opening side door, three cockpit seats and a Kenner-style rear ramp with a carbonite block to slide in there. The only action figures from the battlepack which I don't have so far are Bossk and Mace Windu.

I've had to use the Saga Series Jango Fett's Slave I for my photos as I don't have the Clone Wars Collection one.

Other Clone Wars Collection Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
