Ammo Wagon and Falumpaset: Overview

Ammo Wagon and Falumpaset rear

As one of the larger pieces of Gungan artillery the Ammo Wagon and Falumpaset is really nice to have. The Battle of Theed is quite hard to flesh out as a display in anything resembling the scale of what we see in The Phantom Menace. Being a rather conventional battle in which two armies meet each other head on across the battlefield, the movie is very densely packed with Gungans, Battle Droids and their vehicles and artillery. The Gungan Ammo Wagon and Falumpaset gives us almost our largest peice of Gungan kit which starts to give more balance when faced off against the Trade Federation STAPs, armoured tanks and Multi-Troop Transports. The only bigger item of Gungan artillery released was the Episode One Collection Faamba with Shield Generator which seems to be a pretty rare item these days.

The Falumpaset creature is quite unfortunately named in the sense that on the packaging it looks like a typo and we almost expect what we're getting is an 'Ammo Wagon and Falumpa Set' rather than an 'Ammo Wagon and Falumpaset'.

The Gungan Warrior who rides in the ammo wagon's side chariot isn't a complete figure and has just the upper body moulded in to the chariot. That's said it's still nice to have an extra Gungan warrior.

The rear ammo storage compartment is a nice touch, especially if you want to re-create a scene showing Jar Jar accidentally unlatching one of these and inadvertantly sending energy balls rolling at the on-coming Battle Droids.

You can find the backstory of the Falumpaset creature on Wookieepedia here.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
