Padmé Amidala Figure (Queen Amidala Coruscant) - Episode 1 Collection, 1999 Action Figure Star Wars...

Padmé Amidala (Queen Amidala Coruscant) Action Figure: Overview

Queen Padme Amidala Figure closeup

This Padmé Amidala (Queen Amidala Coruscant) action figure provides a fair representation of her persona in The Phantom Menace as formal, emotionless, ornate, oriental-looking and doll-like. This is Padmé as a symbol of authority and power rather than a person. Her role is inscribed upon her rather than coming from within. This Padmé Amidala (Queen Amidala Coruscant) figure has a very nice paint job which reflects well the formal, aloof and doll-like qualities of her character before we come to know her and before her personality (rather ironically) starts to thaw under the suns of Tatooine whilst posing as her own handmaiden.

This echoes the doll-like and very formal Princess Leia Organa of A New Hope before her character starts to thaw a little and she comes progressively more informal following the escape from the detention block on the Death Star. Padmé's character follows a similar trajectory, from inaccessible royalty through to colloquial and personable action hero.

The articulation on this Episode One Collection Queen Amidala Coruscant action figure is quite unusual. Move Padmé's left leg forward and she looks like she's goose-stepping at a jaunty angle.

Other Episode 1 Collection Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
