The Legacy Collection Disturbance at Lars Hometead playset is a fantastic, much needed and long-awaited addition to the Star Wars playsets, finally allowing us to flesh out the action on Tatooine. We've had options for the Cantina at Mos Eisley since the 1970s, we've had Dewbacks, Banthas, Jawas, Sand People, Sandcrawlers, escape pods and just about everything you can imagine from the desert planet in the first movie. But up until the release of the Disturbance at Lars Homestead Playset we did not have what is the central focus of Luke's life in his formative years, the adobe building where it really all starts and where Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, C-3PO and the holographic Princess Leia all get together for the first time.

The Legacy Collection Lars Homestead Playset includes a base (which provides the sand-scape around the house), the building itself and a moisture evaporator, as well an Uncle Owen, an Aunt Beru and a Sand Trooper. It also includes a womp rat which looks a tiny bit like the Sand People's massiffs, albeit more ferocious (finally there is something for Luke to shoot at in his T-16). The interior of the Distubrbance at Lars Homestead Playset isn't really worth a mention as it's pretty much unusable. However, this is not just a playset to use for the Lars couple to meet their grisly end, it is also well suited to the sale of the droids and makes a wonderful addition to dioramas of the Tatooine sand-scape in general.
There have been complaints about the quality of this Lars Homstead playset in the sense that Owen and Beru are recycled Power of the Force figures and that the interior is not really usable or detailed and so forth, but to be honest I'm just grateful to own it. I do however appreciate that Hasbro could have made a much more detailed job of the figures by the date of release. (see for instance: http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=JReviews&rop=showcontent&id=103).
The detailing on the Womp Rat for this playset is rather good. The Womp Rat has strikingly yellow teeth and hyena like markings. Seen close up it looks truly ferocious and could more than pull the ears off a Gundark.
The Imperial Sandtrooper which comes with this Lars Homestead playset is the Saga Collection Escape from Mos Eisley Sandtrooper with the sandy-coloured staining on his armour, but with just a blaster and no lance.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
