The Palitoy Landspeeder vehicle is quite a rare Star Wars ship when compared to the equivalent Kenner Landspeeder. It is distinctive both because of its closed bonnet and also the silver rims which fit around the sides of the vehicle are glued on rather than being peices which clip on and off.

I picked up two of these Landspeeders as spares from eBay at a very reasonable price. One Landspeeder was missing it's windscreen and double seat and the other was missing just the metallic rims. So I was delighted to discover that I could easily remove the rims from one Landspeeder and attach them to the other. The glue peeled away easily and was still sticky enough after nearly 40 years to stick perfectly to the other Landspeeder. As such I got my complete Palitoy Landspeeder more by luck than by design and what's better it looks pretty much in mint condition.

It seems a shame that Palitoy removed the opening bonnet feature when they released the Landspeeder in the Uk; however in retrospect it is nice to have a variant and one which has tended to survive rather well compared to its Kenner equivalent as many of the clips on the Kenner Landspeeder bonnets have been broken or damaged over the years. I have three of them in my spares and repairs collection and only one is intact

Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
