The vintage Kenner Snowspeeder was a massive advance on the Rebel X-Wing Fighter we had from the previous movie in terms of both detail and functionality. Kenner really went to town on this two-man air speeder with battery-powered light-up front guns, rotating rear gun with the harpoon fixure, fold away and pop-out action landing gear to name just a few of the main features.

The Kenner Snowspeeder had a beautiful sleek design which was very faithful indeed to the ships from The Empire Strikes Back, even down to the detail of footholes down the side for pilots to use to get up onto the cockpit.

The one drawback of the vintage Kenner Snowspeeder was that with all that functionality came a lot of losable or breakable parts. The back exhausts both came off easily as did the front guns and the Snowspeeder's cockpit glass was easily dislodged from the cockpit. Even the engine thrusters were removable. The back block and harpoon though were the easiest to misplace and getting hold of them these days can be hard work, costly or both.

To my surprise I did manage to pick up a harpoon for my Kenner Snowspeeder in a job lot from eBay which I wasn't expecting to find in there, it's a little bit battered up but it's nonetheless nice to have. Sometime later I was pleased to pick up a back block as well and I now also have a much cleaner and whiter Rebel Armored Snowspeeder than the one shown in the photos. Eventually I will get around to updating the photography.

For the photos I've used Legacy Collection and 30th Anniversary Collection Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilots as they look so much better than the Kenner Luke X-Wing Pilot with his teddy bear eyes.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
