I rate this Power of the Force X-Wing Fighter quite highly indeed. The detail added since the vintage Kenner X-Wing predecessor is really good including the brown engines and brown cockpit seat, and the electronics aren't bad either although the sound doesn't really match that of X-Wing Fighter blaster fire.

This Power of the Force X-Wing arrived as part of a job lot almost complete but for two of the guns which I already had to hand. The very best thing about it was that it also came with an un-used sticker sheet which meant that I got to enjoy putting all the stickers on myself which was a really nostalgic thing to be able to do. Unfortunately after 2 decades the stickers for the X-Wing Fighter don't stay on too well, but you can't have everything.

I now have a second complete Power of the Force X-Wing Fighter and both have working electronics. However, there seems to be a distinct difference between the two. One just gives out blaster fire noices when you press the button. The other X-Wing Fighter has the same blaster fire noises but these are followed by the sound of the X-Wing's engines. It's a really nice little variation and not one I was expecting to find.

Changing the wing guns from the black of the Kenner X-Wing Fighters to grey was a smart move, since obviously the black X-Wing guns would have been invisible against the black background of space. One of my Power of the Force X-Wing Fighters only has two of its grey guns so I've used two black Kenner ones as well and this has made it quite difficult to Photoshop for a decent space shot as there is no contrast to be had between the guns and the background.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
