The sleek, black Kenner Imperial Gunner figure was by far one of my favorite Last 17 action figures and a great addition to the Imperial military personnel we had available at the time of its release. The red of his visor provided a much needed flash of colour that was lacking in the Power of the Force Imperial Gunner which was to come later.

Overall, the Last 17 Imperial Gunner figure is well-proportioned and the detailing on his jacket is good and the Imperial insignia on his shoulders was well executed.
The Kenner Imperial Gunner figure also has a very iconic feel to him, perhaps because he was the one who fired up the reactor and initialised the Death Star's planet-destroying weaponry. Looked at this way the Gunner held the fate of the entire Rebel Alliance in his hands.
The Last 17 Imperial Gunner looks much nicer than the Power of the Force Death Star Gunner figure which followed him. The Death Star Gunner figure is much bulkier and doesn't have the flash of red across the visor but instead an Imperial insignia slapped in the middle of his forehead like a Hindu Bindi. I guess there is some sense to this as the Bindi is a representation of the creation of the cosmos, and the Imperial Gunner's insignia by stark contrast is a representation of it's destruction.
All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
