Darth Vader (500th Figure) Action Figure: Overview

Darth Vader Figure 500th Figure closeup

The Darth Vader with meditation chamber was not a bad choice to release as a commemorative 500th action figure. The size of the accessory made it feel rather special as it is on the large end of accessories that traditionally come with Star Wars action figures. In terms of play value though what did you do with the Darth Vader (500th Figure)? The Meditation Chamber is for private contemplative moments alone. There's not really much action entailed in it except for the odd conference call that Vader might take from the Emperor after dragging his Star Destroyer out of an asteroid field for a clearer signal (network reception is notoriously bad in that sector of the Galaxy). And, if you already owned the vintage The Empire Strikes Back Darth Vader's Star Destroyer then you already had a meditation chamber which came with a playset that had massive play value. As a commemorative item though the Darth Vader 500th figure is very much meant for display and my Vader takes pride of place on the shelf in the middle of some of the other commemorative figures I own.

One feature of the meditation chamber that I quite like is the indent for Darth Vader's bottom which fixes him in at one end whilst the mechanical grabber holds down his helmet at the other. He must sit there a lot as he's created the sort of bottom indent you get on your favourite seat on the sofa.

The mechanical grabber reminds me a little of the ones you get at fairgrounds. I can just imagine Vader trying desperately to hook his own helmet and it falling off about 20 times before he manages to accomplish it.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
