Cantina Band Member Figures Mail Away Power of the Force

Cantina Band Member Action Figure: Overview

It doesn't matter which or how many Cantina action figures you own, no Mos Eisley Cantina display is complete without having some of the Power of the Force mail away musicians from the band the Modal Nodes. The Mos Eisley Cantina Band the Modal Nodes are in many ways at the heart of the way we experience the Cantina scenes in A New Hope, and as such being able to own the action figures to represent these musicians for the first time was a real treat. I'm lucky enough to have three of these and they definitely add a sense of completeness to my Cantina diorama.

All the Cantina band member action figures for Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes are from the same mould but there are five different instruments provided as accessories so that you can give them each different roles within the band.

The atmosphere and the spirit of the Cantina Bar are absolutely set and defined by this funky trio. The opening of their first song is just probably the most distinctive and memorable of any movie, perhaps even so much so as the 'der dah, der dah' of Jaws. To create music that is other-worldly, catchy and enjoyable at the same time is a real achievement. By contrast the music we get in Jabba's Palace in The Return of the Jedi is very forgettable. In A New Hope we get a truly iconic soundscape as a backdrop to the seedy underbelly of Tatooine.

The joints for the elbow articulation on these Cantina Band action figures is very primitive but it still does the job for them to hold their instruments.

Other Power of the Force Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
