Han Solo (Star Wars) Action Figure: Overview

Han Solo Figure 1999 fidgeting

For a Power of the Force action figure this classic A New Hope Han Solo is an excellent mould. The facial likeness is very good and the articulation in the legs is pretty good to have too. In fact, I've even posed this Han Solo figure climbing over Jabba's back to simulate the Mos Eisley space port scene. Of course, being able to sit also makes Han very useful for the Cantina showdown scene and with the swivel articulation in his left elbow you can even have him fiddling with the wall to distract Greedo whilst he loosens his blaster from its holster. I thought that I might have been the first to notice this but it seems the guys at Jedi Business made the observation before me (See http://jedibusiness.com/figureDetails.aspx?id=4775).

Unusually Han's blaster is grey rather than black. The detailing on Han's waistcoat, hair and nose are particularly accurate. I like this action figure a lot, and it closely anticipates the quality of what was to come in the Power of the Jedi series. In fact, this Han is so good it was even re-released for the Han Solo (Rebel Heroes) Movie Heroes Series, 2012 thirteen years later which even for a later Power of the Force action figure is a very big testimony to its quality.

The action figure has also been re-released as part of the Original Trilogy Collection in 2004 (Han Solo with C-3PO Carry Case two-pack with a Chewbacca figure) and as the 2003 Saga Series Han Solo (Flight To Alderaan). The figure is almost literally a Han for all series.

Other Power of the Force Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
