Joh Yowza (Max Rebo Band) Action Figure: Overview

Joh Yowza Figure side Joh Yowza Figure closeup

The Joh Yowza action figure is postured nicely enough so that you can imagine him belting out a tune accompanied by the Max Rebo Band. It would have been nice if the figure's tongue had been visible though for a bit more musical drama. Joh Yowza shipped as a two pack with a really funky Sy Snootles action figure which I don't yet own.

The word which epitomises Joh Yowza's extrovert style of performance and showmanship is pizazz, and this is well reflected his surname. Joh's surname oozes show biz pizazz and is one among the many instances of an aptronym in Star Wars naming conventions. You have to wonder whether this is actually a stage name and if in fact his real name is something quite ordinary. See for instance my article on Ephant Mon and Star Wars Naming Conventions.

If you like the later CGI additions to the Jabba's Palace scenes from The Return of the Jedi then the Max Rebo Band Joh Yowza figure is a must have, and thus far he's a unique figure which was only released in the Power of the Force range of action figures. And, whilst there isn't much articulation to this Joh Yowza action figure he is very expressive and the paintwork is very nicely done right down to the palms of his hands and the inside of his mouth.

Other Power of the Force Action Figures

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
