As a Star Wars action figure range the Power of the Jedi represents Hasbros first steps into greatness after the many problems and issues which plagued The Power of the Force 2 and Episode One Collection ranges. That's not to say that The Power of the Force didn't include some great figures but it was overall a disappointment. The Power of the Jedi overall introduced some fantastic new figures of characters we hadn't had before and made significant leaps forwards in terms of moulding, paint work and sometimes articulation as well.

With the Power of the Jedi range of Star Wars action figures Hasbro really upped its game, not only extending the range of figures available considerably but also setting a higher standard in terms of detail, articulation and faithfulness to the films. This range in many ways represents the point at which Star wars action figures stopped being approximations of characters from the films and starting being fairly accurate reproductions of them. These were action figures as much directed towards collectors as towards children and had very good display value as well as play value. The new range of obscure astromech droids and Cantina characters especially did much to make the tapestry of the Star Wars collectors' world much richer and more rewarding.

Out of the entire range there were perhaps only two or three major let downs and most of these were figures with ships or playsets which harked back to the poorer moulds of some of the early Power of the Force characters. I'm especially thinking here of the Bespin Guard that comes with the Carbon-Freezing Chamber and the Luke and Dak Ralter figures which came with Snowspeeders.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
