Darth Vader (Bespin Duel) Action Figure: Overview

Darth Vader figure (Bespin Duel) front Darth Vader (Bespin Duel) with accessories

The outstretched hand with the open fingers on this Bespin Duel action figure is a rather convincing portrayal of Darth Vader's appeal to Luke. Aside from this however, the Vader figure is rather stiff with little articulation and the front peice of the skirt gives him the look of having a codpiece which could be mistaken for a black nappy. The lack of articulation on this Saga Series Darth Vader is a real shame since the contemporary Saga Series Luke Bespin figure is very well articulated and can be posed in a number of iconic positions from the movie.

The wavy cloak reflects well the rush of wind that is coming through the chamber at this point in the duel and it also allows access to the switch to use the slashing force action which most other plastic Darth Vader cloaks would cover over.

The railings and piping which comes with Vader are a very nice touch but sometimes difficult to slot together in any permanent way and have a bad habit of falling over. They looks quite good if you happen to have the Power of the Jedi Carbon Freezing Chamber Playset to display them on.

This Bespin Duel action figure was re-released as part of the Movie Heroes Series in 2012.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
