Reek (Attack of the Clones) – Saga Series: Overview

Reek with Mace Windu Saga Series

I don't usually pay that much attention to the electronics when it comes to Star Wars toys, but with Reek's I was rather pleased. Push the button on his belly and he lets out a roar whilst at the same time he rears his head and lifts his right foot, as if about to trample Jango Fett.

One small improvement to this beast would have been if the ring through his nose had not been moulded on so that you could put a chain through it. Amongst other things that would have meant you could have had Anakin using the chain as reins to ride Reek around the Arena. This would have been quite a significant enhancement to both Reek's play and display value.

Reek's back looks very much like a red strawberry with yellow seeds. There’s also something very dinosaur like about him, and more so than a lot of other Star Wars beasts including the Rancor Monster. I don’t think his skeleton would look massively out of place in a Natural History Museum.

If you want a version of Anakin that can successfully ride Reek then I would suggest using the Saga Series Tatooine Attack Anakin Skywalker as the kicking action gives him just enough knee articulation to sit on Reek convincingly and stay on there without sliding off.

Dubious fact: Apparently, Reek used to be called Theon Grayjoy prior to his days in the Geonosis arena.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.

All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
