This small Dagobah Playset was actually one of Kenner's best playsets with play value that was very well thought out. Not only does the vintage Dagobah Playset give you crates for your Jedi training scenes, there is also a swamp section to submerge R2-D2 inside and a cave with figure stands on levers to recreate the duel scene between Luke and the phantom of Darth Vader. That's a lot to pack into such a small space, and rather cleverly the cave scene is on one side of the central tree trunk whilst the other scenes are on the other, effectively partitioning them off from one another. Tucked away to the side of the Dagobah Playset there is also a second cave opening which I suspect is meant to serve as Yoda's home, giving us yet another dimension to the Dagobah Playset.
Find Dagobah Playset on eBay
I picked up two pairs of the levitating crates from the Dagobah Playset in a job lot which I didn't even realise were in there until I went through everything. Then I picked up the main shell of the Dagobah Playset which was just missing the levitation pole, but since this is the most incongruous feeling part of the entire set I don't mind so much that this is absent. According to the seller the foam on the playset isn't original but it actually looks fairly authentic. I never had the original Kenner Dagobah Playset as a kid but I am really pleased to have it now.
The original foam on the vintage Dagobah Playset has a tendancy to degrade over time, just as it does on the Chewbacca Bandolier action figure storage. The foam can become sticky and you really don't want to get it anywhere near your vintage Star Wars action figures as it will probably leave a gooey residue which you will never be able to get off again. These days many people seem to use replacement foam for their Kenner Dagobah Playsets.

All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
