This Battle of Hoth Chewbacca is a beautifully designed and animated Saga Series action figure, despite the limited articulation. This Chewbacca is really meant for playing 'look behind you' with the Imperial Probe Droid (it makes me wonder what the Wookiee word for 'peek-a-boo' is). The light dusting of snow over Chewie's fur is a really nice touch, and lends a real sense of place to the action figure. The detail on his face, mouth and teeth is especially life-like and looks superb, albeit the teeth are perhaps a little too pointy. All in all the Saga Series Battle of Hoth Chewbacca figure is one of my favourite Chewie action figures.
With the exception of the Tauntaun none of the other figures which came with this Battle of Hoth Saga Series set were anywhere near so impressive. The Tauntaun itself had been recycled from the Power of the Force Range but is nonetheless very good and even came with some guts for Han to cut out of him. The Luke Skywalker is a basic Power of the Force figure with knee articulation for riding the Tauntaun and the Leia figure does have it's faults. I would like to get my hand on the unique R3-A2 astromech droid figure which came with the set though.
There is a second Saga Series Hoth Chewbacca figure which came in a commemorative tin four-pack. This Chewbacca has much more snow on his feet and arms than the lighter dusting on this figure.

The Commemorative Tin also included a Saga Series Hoth Han Solo (brown jacket), Hoth Luke Skywalker and Saga Series Hoth Snowtrooper action figure. The Chewbacca figure is the only one which seems to be unique to the pack (aside from R3-A2), but the Snowtrooper also seems to have had quite a bit of customisation done to it for this pack. All Star Wars action figures, vehicles, collectibles and Star Wars toys shown on this website are the 3.75 inch scale and from my own private Star Wars collection unless otherwise stated. Where possible original vintage accessories have been used but in some instances I have placed Kenner Star Wars figures with either reproduction weapons and accessories or for Hasbro figures close approximations have been used. This is mostly the case for modern Star Wars lightsabers where the correct item can be very difficult to identify on some ocassions. Vintage Star Wars action figures are shown with their original weapon or accessory when I have them. When a vintage Kenner action figure is shown with an accessory which is not original I have tried to point this out where possible.
All of the Star Wars action figures shown were purchased second hand, usually incomplete, and in bulk. They have been reunited with their original weapons and accessories where we could get hold of them.
